History
The history of the company from the 1900s to the present
The Zini Company was founded in the early 1900s when Serafino bought the farm.
Unfortunately at just 42 years of age he was the victim of a very serious accident at work and since then the four children, still very young, together with their mother, and they were forced to take on the responsibility of driving the company.
Today the fund consists mainly of vineyards and orchards cultivated in particularly fertile soils alongside the bank of the Lamone River.
The family's passion for viticulture was therefore born many years ago. Initially the production was oriented to privilege the quantity of the grapes with respect to their quality, so that the wine could be consumed by the whole population which, for the most part, had very little money. Today the business philosophy of the new generations has profoundly changed, in fact we try to achieve a smaller quantity of product but of much higher quality, since wine is no longer a commodity of first necessity but has become a product that must satisfy the palate of gourmets and fans of modern-era cuisine.
To obtain high-level products, different agronomic practices are necessary, such as good pruning, thinning of the grapes (over 50-60%) and the removal of excess leaves, to give more light to the grapes. Thanks to these measures and, for some of these wines, a long aging in oak barrels, wines of great prestige are obtained with organoleptic, olfactory and gustatory properties.
Since 1997 the Zini company has planted in its own company several very innovative white vines, such as the Müller and several Chardonnay clones to offer its customers new fragrant and very fruity wines, such as the Bianco del Mulino, the Bianco di San Michele, the Passito (Straw wine) del Lamone and Tiberiacum, and reds such as Sangiovese and Bursôn, an indigenous vine of great structure that has received numerous awards at the national level.
Among the vines found in the company include: Uva Longanesi, Sangiovese, and Montepulciano. In the cellar, in addition to the bottles, it is also possible to buy bulk wine.
The ambience where it is possible to taste the wines of the company is in the old stable, restored and used for the sale of bottles.
